A Little More Hometown News from Days Gone By

While we're looking back and delving into local newspapers and such, here's an article from the Hartford Courant published back in the summer of 1991.  Apparently, Connecticut lay claim to Richard as a "local boy made good" since he played college football for Central Connecticut.

Interesting highlights:
  • This is the first article I've seen that suggests that it was Grieco who pulled the plug on Booker.  I've always thought the show was canceled, and have seen various explanations for that, but this journalist says Richard called it quits;
  • A nice description of a "glittering celebration" in 20s regalia hosted to promote Mobsters: and
  • For some reason, the writer gives us a rundown on Richard's changing weight across the college to acting days.  Probably it's due to the dramatic change--the 220-pound football player undoubtedly looked quite a bit different from the guy we came to know on television.
Remnants of the football days?
